The Legend of the Nun

The story goes that many years ago, a young nun—or in some versions, a novice—drowned in the treacherous waters of Las Machas. Local accounts vary on how she ended up there; some say she was walking along the shore in reflection when a sudden, powerful wave (a common danger at this beach) swept her away. Others suggest a more tragic, forbidden romance led her to the water.
